Mercedes-Benz C-class cabriolet will use the architecture of the rear-wheel-drive brand new, internally referred to as the W205. The platform will host not only the C-class cabrio, but also wqzxc a coupe, sedan, and, in Europe, the wagon. These foundations have been developed to accommodate hybridization and all-wheel drive. Previous iterations of E-class coupe and convertible have been plucked from the C-class parts bin, but that will change moving forward.
Power will come from a wide choice of four, six, and eight-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. In the U.S., expect a 205-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder M274 into basic powerplant, as well as the basis for wqzxc an upcoming hybrid model, with a 330-hp, turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 servings as an uplevel option. The next C is very likely to receive Benz OM651 four-cylinder 2.1-liter diesel that produces 180 horsepower, but it is not known whether or not the plant will be available in the conversion.
Droptop will finally get AMG-ified, and the team in Affalterbach will match C with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 churning out 460 horsepower. Regardless of engine size or trim level, wqzxc do not expect to see anything but a seven-speed automatic transmission, and we understand that the non-AMG is equipped with a Cs automatic pistol selectors will have their equipment moved to the steering column.
